I've said it before and I'll say it again: I hate talking about technical photography stuff. I typically don't care about what kind of lens and camera someone is using, but I can't help but gush about a new lens I got for my birthday. I'm rocking a Nikkor prime 85mm 1.8 today, and this has been my first day where I've gotten to spend some time with it. Let me tell you, it is amazing.
I went out in the rain to take photos with the fastest dog on earth, which really gave me an idea for how quick the autofocus is on this lens.
This is going to be my main portrait lens for a while. Lily stood there for half a second, and I still was able to focus and snap the photo in time.
I was always a fan of my 50mm, however, after using a telephoto 85mm, I'm never going back.
If you're in the market, I definitely recommend this lens. This will be my go-to portrait lens for a long time to come.
