I'm sitting at a Starbucks in Hawaii right now (nbd), with my new wife reading on her iPad right next to me. It's been kinda rainy here, but today is the first really sunny day we've had.
Being back in Hawaii is super strange, and I can't imagine life living here again. I feel like I'm in the third movie of a trilogy, the first being growing up in Hawaii, the sequel being college, and the third film being married life after college. In the the final film of a trilogy, you always harken back to the first film that started it all (Hawaii being where my formative years were spent), and I'm doing that now. Now though, I get the joy of showing Anna where I spent my time since the beginning of our relationship was spent with her showing me where she grew up. I think she's finally understanding why I love this place so much, as well as understanding why you would want rice for breakfast.
Of course, I don't want to leave, but I appreciate home back in Georgia and look forward to starting a routine there. It may not be a permanent roost for us, but it's a good start. For now though, we are going to go to the beach and enjoy our week here. Seeya on the other side.
