I don't really care for any sport other than college football, but I did feel a 1% sort of rise in spirit with this year's super bowl (the last Super Bowl I watched all the way through was when the Stones played the half-time show). Being an honorary southerner, how could I not root for ATL's football team?
That said, I mostly feel sympathy for Falcons fans, because they are feeling the gut-wrenching heart attack that I often feel watching my college football team, Auburn, in every game they play. In fact, I could in many ways relate this game to last season's Auburn v. Georgia game, that I was unfortunately watching in public at Mellow Mushroom and felt no end of shame from the Georgia fans that surrounded me.
Anyway, good job Falcons, you still went farther than anyone expected. (So I'm told)
